Default My Escort Passport X50 Radar Detector display w/pics

I finally got the pics posted. I have to thank this forum since I got all the info on this from other members who took the time to share. Thanks

It might be easier to use an Escort concealed display to start with, but this is what I had to work with. An old VCR worked perfectly, nice matte black finish. I did run a 8 gauge power wire from the battery to a splitter under the dash for my power supply. All connections are soldered and shrink wrapped.
X50 is just at the bottom of the tint strip and behind the dots. It is squared side to side and about 3 degrees down tilt, my own test say this is what works best with this detector in this vehicle.
I mounted the decal on the back of the plate since I didn't want it to say Escort on my dash.

fire65, that looks awesome! Could have been installed from the factory like that.

RR.net, you're welcome! I much prefer this website, as opposed to all the drama infested threads on the other website.

Great install!

Have you driven at night yet? Just was wondering if the LED's were too bright up high like that?

Yes it is. Always been a gripe of mine. The smart cord should dim when you dim the RD. Its really a little dim in the daytime and perfect at night.

I did offset the cover I took off the smart cord about a 1/16 of an inch since I knew this would be a problem. I have a factory concealed display in the wifes Durango which I have never been happy with at night.

Great stuff!!! Thanks for sharing!

It's obvious that a lot of good thought (not to even mention effort) went into this. Most impressive!
