"Scanning dot," with H/C/A indicator.

Although I'd never been a user of that function, my view on it changed about a year ago, when I first read of someone spotting that their "scanning dot" was "pausing" irregularly.

It seems that sometimes, actual hickups in the detector will be reflected by erratic behavior of what should otherwise be a smooth progression of the dot's motion across the display.

Go figure?

"Scanning dot," with H/C/A indicator. I chose the abbreviated read out because it less conspicuous only having "H" rather than the hole word "Highway". I have my RD up high by the RVM, and a red blaring "Highway" would drive me nuts...
Scanning dot is just cool

I wouldn't have suspected so many people to run with the scanning dot. I am going to try it now though because the blue display on the X50 and 9500i are really bright at night even when dimmed.

This will help you big time, and when it goes off you will go from a small "H" to the bright bar read out.
