Default Adjusting the distance to alerts on 9500i?

Is it possible on the 9500i to adjust the alert distance..... reason I ask...is in downtown Houston there is about 50 red light cameras and alot of them are very close distance of each other.... I wanted it to only alert me say 100 feet within the camera.... is that possible...right now I can only have it alert me to one without unmarking the location... and it will show it up to 5,100 feet away the alert

Well I would guess NO because I remember when I had the 9500i that was a complaint of mine because it was too much warning and by the time you got to it you were ignoring it. I know if you drive more then 55 mph it will give a 5,000 ft warning and under 55 mph it will give a 2,500 ft warning. No way to change that I am aware of.

My navalert I have is nice because it alerts me when I get within 200 meters (or yards can't remember which) but no 5,000 ft that's for sure.

Remember that a false radar alert is one in which an RD alerts to radar when in reality there is no radar source. An alert that is triggered by a source other then by a LEO or officer is called a non-threat radar alert. Keep Learning!

5,000 feet warning is a little excessive... unless you are doing 140 mph or over :}

Yeah it gets to the point where you just delete the alert or ignore it completely. Maybe like 500 ft - 1,000 ft warning at most but even that sounds too far especially if there are multiple cameras near each other.

To the best of my knowledge, no, this is not yet possible.

I know that from the RD.net threads, since the release of the 9500i, there have been more than a handful of us who said that this would be something for the Escort engineers to work on - to enable end-user adjustment of this once the USB capabilities come on-line.

According to the 9500I/9500ci patent the USB could adjust the distance. I use the Mark Location only for speed traps on my less driven roads; it seems to be designed more for speed traps and not for red light cameras.

2500 to 5000ft alert distance for a less frequent driven speed traps is ok in most cases. but for red light cameras 1000ft is more than fine.
