Default How to properly mount a Cobra Radar Detector?

I had a guy come up to me the other day while hanging out at a buddies place. He had his cobra mounted behind his "Metal" windsheild wipers? What is up with these people? Haven't they ever used a cellphone? Don't they understand what Metal does to RF signals? Some people amaze me. Then he want's to know why he isn't getting all the range he can i bet. Thats the funniest part. I shot him with laser, and showed him the difference in being improperly, and properly mounted. It made the difference of picking it up with my v1 5 ft on the dirt infront of my bumper midwindsheild, and not picking it up at all in his truck. Even though the v1 is a better laser detector than a cobra by far, atleast increase your odds people! You only stand to gain from a proper mount

At least you taught him properly.....now all you need to do is get him to get rid of the cobra.

There are only a few states where using a cobra is enough to squeek by, and Texas is NOT one of those places. From what I've heard, thos guys have a fast trigger down there.

We all have to start somewhere, if buying a cobra is what gets a user hooked on detectors then so be it. Atleast they are better than the average person who chooses to just be bait with nothing on their dash, visor, or windsheild and claim, "I don't speed." Which we all know is a fallisy.

If it gets them interested in our hobby so be it, if its all they can afford so be it, it's their loss. We can inform the public unfortunetly thats all we can do.

see the problem is cobra. Invest so much money into retail sales into their product that the end users thinks thats the detector to get.

At least if they move onto a Whistler, we should all be proud then. Cobra users please eventually switch to Whistler so we don't have to deal w/ the leakage problem.
