Yes, you're right. We got a bit off-topic.

Speaking of the price increase, I did chat with a couple of retailers about this. Apparently, Bel increased their wholesale prices around March 1st.

What I find interesting about this...

1. Seems to have been timed with the launch of the Bel STi-R
2. WTF are they thinking? Now STi is $100 more than a V1. Yeah, I know the STi comes with the accessories, so real difference a bit less, but still.
3. Escort 9500i same price. What is this, GPS or total Stealth for $500??

I'm perplexed. I can't decide if Bel/Escort's costs went up or if this is a marketing BS and suck money from your customers. The retailers say their cost went up $50 on the STi and they are not making more $ that only Bel and the distributors are, but who knows.

I don't really care who pockets the extra $50. Point is it would cost me $50 more than a month ago to buy one. The V1 has cost $399 for as long as I can remember. Nowadays that $400 is not such a big hit to the wallet as 10-15 years ago. And now I am shocked that it's no longer the most expensive standard mount RD.

It will be interesting to see if Valentine ever releases a truly stealth V1 and if so, whether there will be a price increase or not. If they can do it without one that would be amazing and I suspect woo some potential STi purchasers to the V1 camp.

I just like seeing V1 owners go nuts defending the Valentine. Its like they are the only ones that can bash ANY and EVERY other detector.
Because V1 Owners are more of Zombies including myself. I think we do have a right to bash other Radar Detectors in the Market in terms of Radar/Laser Sensitivity depsite their Chattiness in the City in which 9500i can boast about as well as STi can boast about their Invisibility in the Real World.

Onto the Original Topic, I was just checking around the Prices last week and did notice the Bel STi did increase their Price when it happened 2 months ago.
