Default RX65 lags behind some V-series?

Looking over GoL's website, I noticed that the RX65 came behind the V-series in a 3 out of the 7 tests. The V965 in Ka 33.5 GHz, and the V995 in Ka 34.7 GHz beat the RX65 in the straight line sensitivity. Then behind the V965, V955, V995, and the V940 in Ka 34.7 GHz around the curve. Maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't the RX65 at least get better range than ALL other units from Bel (except the STi)

I don't think you are missing anything and furthermore I agree. The RX65 should perform better than any of the V series. I think Beltronics has settled on the M4 platform for all their Pro and Vector series. The performance is about the same on all units and you pay the extra money for features. Oh yeah, there is that manufacturing variance thing too. The idea of shucking out an extra $200.00 for an Rx65 over a Vector 940 seems........ ridiculous?

Heres an answer to why the GOL tests suck for the rx65

rx65 according to gol - Radar Detector Jammer Forum

Lets just say that Im kinda dissapointed that they only tested the rx65 in Int Ka mode and not USA mode. USA Mode would have definately giving the rx65 a huge jump in Ka detection.

I also started a poll and no one had an encounter where their rx65 didn't alert to Ka band in USA mode.

That is very true. I have two Vector 985's, both with accusweep. They are OK when accusweep is off. That is to say they are close to my X50 and 9500i in detecting Ka band. When you engage accuseep it is a very different story. Both 985's outdetect my rev.5 X50 and my 9500!!! Depending on my conversation with Escort today..... it may be bye bye to my 9500 and hello to RX65!

Lol. I think I've convinced you to get the rx-65. Its a very underrated detector especially with the unfair GOL testing for it. Very quiet and very great detection.

My friends all have V1s. When they ride with me, they're surprised at how quiet it is and that the range is very similar to their V1s. I think its probably with how they've programmed theirs, but where Im from, I get 1 k false every couple weeks and no ka falses.
