Talking New Lidar Video Out

LI fails rear Labatory tests of proclaimed JFG we'll see tomarrow how it does in a "REAL" world test against the PL2.
At distance of 200ft 250ft PT was easily obtained on my PL2 In range Mode. Didn't get a chance to go further than that yet as the I was then standing in the woodline, and needless to say it was 1am and dark out, although from what I witnessed not throughly impressed, and fear that 3-4 heads might be needed to the rear to Even JFG from 500ft.
It was as if no jammer was even there, so i Checked the system it is working properly, newest rev. and also each head is brand New and functions properly, as parking sensors work for both sides, and I checked each sensor up close and personal with the PL2 and each alerted when targeted. So both sensor's are functioning, although Jamming has yet to be seen. I get Instant Range, and then I get ----- Then I get Instant LOCK TONE type ranges. If you ask me thus far in Lab Test's I have concluded it to be a dissapointment. Although Once again We'll see how things go in a "REAL WORLD TEST" Tomarrow.

Very strange indeed.....please keep us posted. Please let us know if you're able to get speed readings from your vehicle-mounted/real-world testing setup.

This would be the first known failures of this type, from independent testing.

The unit is alerting properly (voice alerts) to the PL-II, correct?

Question Re: REAR MOUNTED LI Fails test.

Very correct that it is, after yet some more in DEPTH "LAB" testing this morning I realized I was wasting my time attempting "LAB" tests. As I remembered/figured out how a laser jammer works.

It keeps that distance constant. So that a speed reading cannot be obtained, although I guess now that I think of it that way the readings i was getting all the way up to 110 meters at the end of my driveway, where actually going up in distance which tells me im getting different ranges which means punch through is likely to occur.

Once again as i have described before if "Range" can be obtained which I have obtained it off both ends the front and rear now. At multipule distances. Then techinically "Speed" should be only seconds away. As the change in distance = volocity to the lidar gun.

So in essence It by all means shouldn't jam?

Although with the previous Rev. number not the latest one im running now, it JTG'd every run in a "REAL" world test of my PL2 which can be seen on my MySpace.com - AlPiNe~ - 24 - Male - Rose City, Mi, Michigan - www.myspace.com/alpinestars_2002795 site.

This baffels me as im not sure what would change while the device is moving, as oposed to stationary? I wouldn't think anything would change?

I fear this could be a FLAW in the New Gen 3 LI jamming diodes. As my front LI's are GEN 2's.

If this is the issue LI has alot of trouble on their hands.

You know, I hate to hear of these things happening to the "consumer" Alpine. How do "we" the consumer know that what we are buying will actually work? And these are supposedly brand new LI heads too? I am utterly shocked to say the least!

I if understand you correctly you are getting distance readings and thinking they will relate to punch throughs whil ethe car is not moving?

I can get my LA to read distances on any jammer from all distances (AL, LPP, Blinder). The guns only need to get one or 2 pulses back to read distances and the jammers do not respond to every single pulse it receives. Certain Jammers do not start jamming until the 7th or 8th pulse. Those pulses are returning your distance reading, but the Gun has not yet been able to calculate speed. Some guns need 30 retun pulses to get a speed reading and all the jammer has to do is mess with one of these pulses - not nearly all of them.

YES - The car has to be moving as the Jammers jam the speed calculations not all the distance calcs the guns performs.

Try the test while the car is moving and let us know the results. I would assume they are much more to your liking.

Did you try this on the front of your vehicle?

my LPP has similar results against my Prolaser 2 in range mode too actually when the car is parked but it does jam it in speed mode when the car is moving so i wouldnt worry about it just yet.

however my marksman is a different story. the LPP jams it 100% when parked or moving.

Default Re: REAR MOUNTED LI Fails test.

The LA and the PL II are actually pretty similar guns.

I just shot all the jammers I have and the LA gets distance on all of them quickly. I also have a rangefinder which does the same thing except at times it gives messed up distances.

I will check with the Ultralyte at the track tonight.

I would also assume that the guns would give distances as the jammers fire, but they might not be the correct distances the gun my think the target is closer (or farther if it thinks its pulse is a reflection from something close) due to the timing of the jamming pulse. My rangefinder gives distances on all the jammers, but sometimes the distances are way off. Sometimes closer and sometimes farther.

Nothing to worry about as it is the speed calculations that have to be messed with.

Exclamation Re: REAR MOUNTED LI Fails test.

Well LI passes the test, another video on the way this one is a brand new Real WOrld of me getting shot by a state trooper today, JTG JTG. Nice.. Needless to say i think the officer was a little furious, he even got in and came after me for jamming him. Attempted to intimidate me with coming up right behind me and shooting me with 35.5ghz radar. Coming SOON!!
