Honestly I have no idea what the differences are when you mount high -vs- low. I am getting very good reception low and the unit is hidden from view so I plan on keeping that way. RacerX has his mounted above the Rear View Mirror so he may be able to add some knowledge to this - Especially after Him and Roy do their tests of the 9500ci.

I have seen some good ideas to mount this on a ski rack and I would assume mounting higher would get better reception, but I am not sure if it is needed.
