Hello,

I have:

Stalker ATR with Fastest mode

Kustom Golden Eagle Dual Ka - Same lane.
Kustom Hawk K (for sale)

MPH K55 X band

Targetron K (for sale)

Use to own:

Kustom HR-12 (newest model)

West Bend X band moving (one of the first moving) HUGE horn!

Stalker Dual Ka Single (bought of Ebay - found out was "missing" - returned to owner - KSP) Was a great unit, fast and deadly!

Eagle Ka

Decatur HHM X band - Nice unit, great range, slow acquisition time.
Deactur 2 piece X band - bad unit - hated it.

The very old units have slow acquisition time due to the number of 'pulse' they would put out. IF I remember right, the Decatur 'Raygun' series only had a 3 or 4 rate per second. The newer ones are a lot higher pulse rate and are digital. The Nixie tube units are still a good gun to own. Only drawback to say a Decatur HHM, lack of parts, some of the parts are impossible to find or no longer even produced. The hand held moving is ok, NEVER buy the 2 piece unit. What a dog, that was.

Same goes with the older HR-12's...The new currently sold HR-12 is a whole different unit then the original HR12.

I still like the old Decatur series of hand held units. For the most part, they where X band, easy to detect. Fit your hand better due to their nice rounded handles then the Kustom which had a square type handle and a funny lock / unlocking system. The Decatur was a pull the trigger for reading and let go to lock. A lot better then the Kustom setup.

Wished I had kept a copy of a catalog some place use to put out. Had all the older units listed in there. Was nice to read about what features each had and pulse rates etc.

Take care,

Spin
