Well I would guess NO because I remember when I had the 9500i that was a complaint of mine because it was too much warning and by the time you got to it you were ignoring it. I know if you drive more then 55 mph it will give a 5,000 ft warning and under 55 mph it will give a 2,500 ft warning. No way to change that I am aware of.
My navalert I have is nice because it alerts me when I get within 200 meters (or yards can't remember which) but no 5,000 ft that's for sure.

Remember that a false radar alert is one in which an RD alerts to radar when in reality there is no radar source.
