First off, don't believe anything on radartest.com. Craig Peterson has a long standing feud with Mike Valentine which is why you'll always see him bashing the V1. The V1 is still the absolute best radar detector as far as sensetivity goes. That doesn't necessarily mean it's the best radar detector for everyone. If you live in a city that has a lot of auto doors it'll really get tiresome. The arrows are a godsend for locating the radar source. I have an Sti and a V1. I don't feel like reposting my whole testing experience, but in short my Sti is better on 35.5 ka and that's it. My V1 pretty much kills it on all the other bands. The ramp up stinks on my Sti. Unfortunately I live in VA and I've spotted Spectre IV's on my daily commute so the Sti is the only detector I can use. If it wasn't illegal to use a detector in VA I would switch back to my V1 in a heartbeat. I sincerely feel that the Escort 9500i is probably the most well rounded detector available. It has the closest sensetivity to the V1 across all bands and it's quiet as hell in the city. It's ramp up is great.
