Default MN Radar Laws

Radar detectors, indirectly illegal. There is no law that states the use or possession of radar detectors is illegal, however there is a law banning anything suction cupped to the windshield. I have personally had a LEO comment on my RD placement before hardwire, and a friend of mine had a LEO tell him to take it down before I hardwired his for him.

Since I moved my RD up by my RVM I have had no problems what so ever.

Jammers are illegal. The way the law is stated it sounds like MN groups Laser jammers and radar jammers in the same category. I have heard a few different views on fees and penalties ranging from $11,000 fine and up to 6 months in prison, to a petty misdemeanor.

Licence plate covers. Im not aware of any laws prohibiting any covers over licence plates, but I do see them on a few cars. I have heard of a LEO asking someone to take it off, but no ticket was issued. As long as your plate is legible, you should be fine.

If driving through MN, you may want to be careful of an RD that is in plain sight. You may get harassed about it. With the jammers as long as you dont JTG you should be fine, I was never pulled over after jamming a LEO and I have not heard of any cases of someone getting caught with one, just be careful when jamming in MN.
