Default Whistler's MAP Pricing

Anyone seen the complete ignorance over on that other radar detector site concerning Whistler's authorized seller policy? Morons who have turned anti-Whistler because Whistler won't line their pockets like other companies do are actually ATTACKING Michael B and Whistler for establishing an authorized seller list.

Never mind that other comapnies have had that for YEARS. Never mind that Whistler is actually honoring the warranties on those purchased before the list came out, regardless of where they were bought AND will honor those purchased afterward if they are genuine, NEW Whistler products. Never mind that the almighty other companies won't honor your warranty if you got their RD from an unauthorized dealer (and sometimes if you bought it direct!).

I suspect Whistler did this because they had reason to believe a certain RD company may have been unethically forcing the price of Whistler units DOWN online. This would make more space on shelves in brick-and-mortar stores by making the Whistler's cheaper to buy online versus in a store, and would also make them look less appealing than the higher-priced RDs from other companies. It's a way of cheating your competitor that's been around for years.

I think Whistler did the right thing, and certain other RD site users need to regain some of their objectivity where Whistler is concerned. It's VERY obvious they're being paid off.
