I run the V1 on my big truck and I have one of them sun visors that come off the front cab so my V1 stay's pretty much in the shade all the time.
If you have yours mounted high and on the windshield, you could "visor" mount it or try to mount it back a little from the windshield to keep it out of direct sunlight.
Black case, direct sun,, she's gonna be pretty warm. If no way to place it better to be out of direct light... might have to take it down each time (which would be a pain).
