Re: What is POP radar? POP radar is a type of radar that uses VERY short pulses of energy to get a "general" speed on a car. It allows a LEO to determine whether it's likely you're speeding or not without setting off most RDs, since the pulses are too short to alert them, though many are adapting now and making units that alert well on these signals. In most places, POP is not enforceable, since the LEO never has a lock until he goes to full I/O radar. But they'll still write you a ticket, since you have no way of knowing if it was POP or locked.
