I'm honestly hoping that what
navalert posted on the RD.net Forums, about their company making a "comeback, with a vengeance," will actually be true.
Don't get me wrong - I'm a Cheetah user (GPS-Mirror), and Cheetah/Cheetah-USA's got me so sold on their customer-service that I more than likely won't ever use anything else.
But as a true-independent hobbyist and end-consumer, I'm always appreciative of having more than one choice available, both for myself as well as for my fellow end-consumers. Furthermore, I've always believed that healthy competition leads to not only prices that are more consumer-friendly, but also spurs continued product development and improvement.
Hopefully, Cheetah's entry into this market, with the stand-alone C100, has served to force NavAlert back on the right track, and hopefully will spur them to make both more frequent as well as more timely database updates (and offer them on their promised time-scales to their end-users), as well as will again see a reversion to their old level of customer interaction and support, which sadly all but disappeared during those few dark months earlier this year.
