Even if I gave it March of this past year, that's still only around 6 months' worth of road-use/data.

That's hardly "long term," and the second batch of US LI heads started warranty claims at around that time as well, thus nullifying the claim (not to mention that there are still those of us both in Taiwan and here in the US - myself included - who remain trouble-free, to-date, of their 8.0 version LI heads....which is quickly approaching the 1-year point).

And don't backtrack to the AL/LPP as comparable items - LaserStar as well as PASS both billed themselves as being better than the competition, in terms of weathersealing.

The AL G8 continued, all the way up to its point of discontinuation, to suffer from weathersealing issues.

And it wasn't until the second batch of LPP heads here, in North America, that we started to see truly decent weathersealing.

So far, the only companies still standing that can offer true claims of "long term durability" are Escort and Blinder.
