Default Re: Question about mounting a laser jammer on a Hummer H3

^ Even discounting the GOL's data.....

It's well known that larger vehicles, particularly those with extreme hardpoints, often will require at least 3 LPP heads to achieve even "effective-JTG," not to mention "true-JTG."

With either the LaserStar or PASS, I would recommend the use of all four heads up-front. And even then, based on independent hobbyist testing of the PASS (CT and CFL groups' data only), I'd still bone-up on passive protective measures (i.e. "dressing" the chrome, headlamps, and the front plate"), as I truly still believe that such a setup would still be touch-and-go.

Save up for what you need.

"Uncertain" protection is worse than no protection at all - it simply lends you an air of invincibility while your armor has many potential breaches, which can cause you to become complacent in your driving practices.

A good laser jammer is an investment.

It's an investment against not only the time and hassle of a traffic stop (without a ticket - i.e. a warning) but also the ticket itself, and even moreso, in the potential time-lost and additional money-lost in terms of fighting the ticket (attorney costs, court costs, the cost of attending court [i.e. missed day at work, finding alternative childcare, etc.]), and in case the unthinkable happens, the years of insurance premium increases.

Viewed against such a set of costs, the up-front price of a good jammer simply disappears into the background.

Save up and get *proper* protection.

And trust me, I'm not one of those trust-fund types. I work for a living, and I have a family to care for, with the usual real-world needs.

Yes, I do have a decently comprehensive setup, I won't be falsely modest and lie about that.....

But anyone who knows me knows that the setup isn't something that I've bought, all at one time, outright. I well saved-up for what I have, and upgraded in steps, addressing my most pressing needs, first, and worked towards the comprehensive setup.

It took me quite a bit of saving.
